Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actor. She also sings. In her early years Sara was targeted for racial discrimination by many people in America. When she went to an event at school and was given the highest praise for her singing, in ninth grade the young girl started to feel more confident. The experience not only increased the confidence of her, but was also a change in the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. When she was 22, she graduated from the New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot she portrayed The Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. The following year, she joined the ABC series Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. Known as a singer she has also released a single as well as an extended show. Also, she's an activist and fights for LGBT rights.
